Namibia is a quite young country. It gained independence from South Africa on the 21st of march 1990 and became a republic with a stable parliamentary democracy.
Agriculture, tourism and mining industry form the basis of its economy.
Namibia has a population of only 2.5 million people in comparison to its area of 800 thousand square km. It has resulted to be one of least densely populated countries in the world.

Namibia borders with South Africa to the south, Angola to the north, Botswana to the east and Atlantic Ocean to the west.
